This is a 100% solderless chip that works with all drives.

No soldering needed at all.
Disconnect the Flat Flexible Cable (FFC) between the wii dvd mainboard and the wii mainboard.
Connect the included FFC to the wii dvd mainboard and one side marked 'dvd' of the Drivekey.
Connect the existing FFC from the wii mainboard to the one side marked 'wii' of the DriveKey.

DriveKey sits on the bus between the Wii motherboard and the DVD drive. It transparently monitors all data transmitted. When a backup disc is inserted DriveKey emulates an original game disc by transmitting and patching necessary data. DriveKey has full control and can read the entire DVD media.
